What I'm Doing Now

Here I keep an up-to-date list of what I’m focusing on and working on, inspired by Derek Sivers’ Now movement.

Working on a new one-man startup

While playing around with the Anthropic API I came up with an interesting use case for a pet project I had built. After running it by a friend with much more business experience than I have and getting a positive response, I’ve decided to go into work mode and build it out into a proper SaaS product. Unfortunately, the holiday season is approaching, so I will likely have to wait until mid-January to open it up to the public. This gives me plenty of time to make sure there are no major bugs and prepare a proper launch though, so it’s not the end of the world.

Looking forward to Autumn

Summer here on the North Coast has been pretty underwhelming. It’s been much cooler than normal, and we’ve even gotten some rain which is odd for the Summer months. The nights are getting crisper and cooler though, so that means Autumn is approaching which is a pleasant time of year. I enjoy all seasons, but I think the periods where one season is waning and the other is waxing are my favorite overall.

Enjoying fiction

Earlier this year I started reading fiction again for the first time in over a decade. I was an avid reader already, but I only bothered reading non-fiction for the sake of productivity and efficiency. My reasoning was that the real world is interesting enough, so fiction has no utility. This is a pretty silly view to hold in hindsight, but nonetheless, I’ve been enjoying my foray back into quality fiction.
